Battery balancer - A battery balancer is a device in a battery pack which can actively shuttle energy into a weak cell from other more healthy cells in the pack, they may also include the function of a battery regulator to prevent overcharging. Balancers are often found in Lithium ion battery packs for cell phones and laptop computers.
Vanadium redox battery - The vanadium redox ( and redox flow ) battery is a type of rechargeable battery that was originally developed by Albero Pellegri and Placido Spaziante, their patent was granted in 1978, the first commercial development was by the University of New South Wales in Australia in 1984. The Vanadium redox battery exploits the ability of vanadium to exist in 4 different oxidation states, and uses this to make a battery that has just one chemical electrolyte instead of two.
